A very heavy boned, beautiful tyger spotted jennet with dark eyeliner all the way around both eyes. This is Bruise's fourth foal and first spot! Thank you to Julia Vaughn, who delivered Bow when she was born, for naming both Bow and her new baby, Rain! My batteries died for my good camera so I was unable to take a video of the birth like I usually do. I did take a few seconds with my cell phone but I had to put it down to get the baby out since she was delivered standing up!

We just recently purchased Rain back from her owner who was reducing her herd. She honored her promise to offer her back to us first and we are so excited to have her back home.

We have attempted to settle this jennet in foal for two years but we have been unsuccessful. We are offering Rain as a pet or show prospect. She has had light in-hand training and she really enjoys the attention. She would be a wonderful driving donkey too.

She is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encephaliti, Tetanus, Influenza, Rhino, Rabies and Botulism. She has been de-wormed regularly, hooves trimmed and she will have an up to date negative coggins report and a current health certificate if sold out of state.

Bridgette is registered as a dark brown and white spotted jennet but she is so dark that when clipped she looks almost black with roaning and white spots. The photos and videos above were taken in her winter unclipped/uncleaned coat just days after foaling. It is still to cold here to clip or give baths.

We have exposed Bridgett to our black no light points jack, H. R. Half Ass Acres Zhivago (Andy), for a foal due in the fall of 2024. She was pasture exposed from 09/28/23 thru 11/12/23, and we have not observed her coming back in season.

Bridgette is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, Rhino and Influenza. She is microchipped and her registration papers and transfer are in order and ready to be mailed in with your name as the new owner. She has a current negative coggins report dated 3/03/23. This jennet is very friendly and easy to catch and handle. She is an excellent mom and has had no problems foaling. Her papers say she is 30 ¾" but we measured her at 31 ¾".

We finally came up with a name that fits this outstanding jennet. We are confident that she will clip off to be a black and white spot (she did). She was born during the week that my beloved older sister suffered a stroke and I was not at home long enough to take photos and videos until she was already eight days old.

This was Junebug's last foal and she really outdid herself with this one. As all Junebug's foals have been, Baby Bug is very heavy boned and wide with correct conformation. She has two dark eyes with eyeliner all around both eyes. Her spot pattern is pretty close to 50/50 which most of the judges are looking for. We are very pleased with this jennet.

This jennet is barely 32 inches tall. She is one of those donkeys that EVERYONE comments about. She is a very black/brown and white spotted with a striking white underbelly, wide blazed face and just a few scattered spots on her hips. Party is very drafty, with good legs and a wide body. Lucia is a beautiful jennet with outstanding conformation. She has the sweetest, most laid back disposition and she passes a good sound mind on to her foals. Her foals have performed really well in the show ring.

Her first foal, KKR Good As Gold, stood Grand Champion Jack four times with limited showing.

KKR IsABell - Izzy stood Grand Champion Junior Donkey at the ADMS Nationals in 2006. And she was NMDA Junior National Champion at the NMDA Nationals, just to name a few.

KKR King's Ransom has won in halter and pre-green performance classes, and in 2008 her foal Black Swede sold to Cindy Benson in Oregon.

Oh my, how these photos do not do this jennet justice. She needs to be body clipped and we will have a do over with her photo shoot. This jennet is really drop dead gorgeous with a personality to match. You have to see her in person to really appreciate her. Thank you to Kathy and Larry Van Epps at Fleur de Lys Farm in Wisconsin for allowing Lucia to come live at Half Ass Acres.

Lucia's last foal was weaned in September 2022, and we are going to retire her from breeding. We would love to find her the perfect retirement home. Until then she will remain at Half Ass Acres.

Little Much was born when I was out of town for three weeks caring for my sister's farm while she was in the hospital. He was safely delivered by my wonderful husband, Joe, all by himself.

2023 Update! We just recently purchased Shorty back from his owner that has had him since he was weaned. We now co-own Shorty with Southern Asspitality Miniature Donkeys in Wartrace, Tennessee. We are happy to add his genetics back into our herd as he is very stocky with correct conformation, a tiny adorable head and a very laid back personality that we have found is passed on to offspring. Shorty's coat is splotchy in these photos/videos. We may try to retake his photos and videos when and if his coat evens out.

Macho was born at Half Ass Acres as his dam was sent to us to sell by our good friend, Dee Schroeder, from Dee's Blacks and Spots Miniature Donkey Farm. Dee is retiring from the donkey business and wanted us to find her last donkeys good homes.

Macho looks like he will make a spectacular herdsire at maturity.  We think that when he loses his foal coat he may be a black and white like his dam. He is very stocky with straight legs and a perfect bite. He will be up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encepelitis, Tetanus, Rhino, Influenza, West Nile and Rabies. His hooves and deworming will be up to date. He will have a negative coggins report and a health certificate if sold out of state. He will also be double registered in The Miniature Donkey Registry and The American Council of Spotted Asses. Payments will be fine until he is weaned at five to six months of age. Or you can purchase him with his dam and enjoy Macho now while he is a baby.
